Blue Moon Barbecue

This was the grand occasion of LVH3's third blue moon r*n since inception and we reverted to our Caton/Brookhouse roots again (well strictly speaking Caton Green) at the house of founder hashers Bubbles and Forever Blowing. We don't generally need lighting on our summer evening hashes but in the circle FB checked that we were all equipped with torches, implying a marathon trail was imminent. Naturally we were not and Upperskirt began to panic when FB admitted it was a joke. So off to a good start then, and after no further info whatsoever from the hares and Lurch and Morticia arriving late as usual, we checked out the trail, STT missing at least one mark in his haste to get going.

It was not far up Caton Moor before the Rambos split off only to find after a quarter of a mile that their trail was a dead end, though the view over the valley from the check back was terrific on this largely cloudy but very clear evening, so it was well worth it. On up the fell until all were reunited at the beer stop near the wind farm with more glorious views. Down Quarry Road and through Annas Gill brought us on inn at Mary Bank where Bubbles had already got the BBQ going.

A quick circle brought down downs for the hares, Upperskirt for falling for the hares' bluff, Lurch and Morticia for being late again and STT for missing flour.

A good time was had by all and Cum Yak Yak joined us later with boyfriend Rory.

Thank you to Bubbles and Forever Blowing for making their beautiful house available again for the hash. Next Blue Moon is in 2018 when incredibly there are two blue moons in the space of three months, one in January and one in March.
